Black Tie Bingo doubles as a fundraiser


Rotary Club of Cathedral City and Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert Host Black Tie Bingo Fundraiser

CATHEDRAL CITY – If you love bingo, you’ll love playing Black Tie Bingo – with proceeds going to two good causes.

The Rotary Club of Cathedral City is partnering with the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert to host an evening of Black Tie Bingo on Saturday, April 30 starting at 5 p.m. at the Mountain View Grill at the Desert Princess Country Club Restaurant, 28-555 Boulevard Landau, Cathedral City.

“We are pleased to announce that Tommy Kocan, character creator of ‘Dinner With Patsi’, who has a
reputation as a vigorous fundraiser for local nonprofits, will announce the bingo numbers at the event. Bingo winners will walk away with gift cards to local restaurants, resorts and favorite cafes,” said Melita Martin Radtke, event chair and president-elect of the Rotary Club of Cathedral City.

The entire community is invited to play Black Tie Bingo with Rotarians and supporters of the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert. Dinner, entertainment and access to a silent auction are included in the ticket price.

Proceeds from the evening will fund scholarships for Cathedral City High School graduating students this spring and the reimagined programs and expansion of the Children’s Museum,” explained Dawn Elliott-Figueroa, President of the Rotary Club of Cathedral City.

Cindy Burreson, CEO of the Children’s Discovery Museum and member of the Rancho Mirage Rotary Club, added, “We invite the public to view the full plan for the Children’s Discovery Museum update at We are thrilled with the support the community has shown to open and operate the museum with new programs for children in our valley. The Rotary club supports our reIMAGINATION efforts and, in doing so, our future community leaders.

Musical entertainment will be provided by a wind set of Cathedral City High School led by Matthew Howe, Director of Groups at CCHS.

Tickets for the dinner, No Host Bar event and silent auction must be purchased by April 18 to ensure a seat. Some tickets will be available at the door for those who have made a reservation with Laura Ahmed.
