Gorrell promoted to Chief Information Security Officer
BERNE – The First Bank of Berne has promoted employee Rick Gorrell to the position of Chief Information Security Officer. Gorrell has worked for the bank for almost 30 years. During that time, he held positions in the accounting department, loans department and IT department, according to a recent press release.
Gorrell received his math degree from Grace College before continuing his education and earning an MBA from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and a master’s degree in banking from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin.
As Chief Information Security Officer, Gorrell will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing the bank’s information security program to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the IT environment in accordance with industry regulations and standards.

Gorrell and his wife, Tiffany, have two daughters, Jaci and Kaiti, and a son, Isaac. He is an active member of the First Mennonite Church and has volunteered for the Junior Achievement region.
